It is a real word. It is found in the 1972 Chemical Abstracts by the American Chemical Society. It is the chemical name for "Coat Protein, Tobacco Mosaic Virus, Dahlemense Strain", and is supposedly the longest word in the English language (at least in a serious context). Can I expect proper pronunciation of it this Lord's Day? :)
